State of the Kitchen Address

I recently purchased a Kuhn Rikon Safety Lid Lifter can opener and have been gleefully opening cans ever since. It seems a little odd (unless you know me, that is) that I would get such joy from a kitchen gadget. While I am no Suzy Homemaker, I really do enjoy cooking. Little gadgets and tools that make mundane tasks… well, less mundane… give me a lift.
Anyway, the victim of my latest triumph of woman (and can opener) over cylindrical metal packaging was packed pumpkin. Three loaves of pumpkin bread are now in the oven and the house is beginning to smell heavenly. I’ll post photos and a recipe later, if all goes well.
Today’s agenda consists of cleaning, cleaning, cooking, cooking, more cleaning, and maybe a quick hike before the woods get to soppy. Oh, and warm bread…. with nutmeg butter. mmmm.
