From the Outside, Looking In

I have a ‘thing’ about storefronts. When I was younger, I wanted to be a forest ranger, a cinematographer, a police officer, and a window dresser. I have always lingered in front of lavish department store window displays and ooh-ed and ahhh-ed over displays in boutiques and florist shoppes.
It should then be no surprise that I’ve lately taken to the streets of Corvallis, enjoying the holiday displays in downtown shops. They cannot compete with Macy’s or Ann Taylor, but they’re very special in their own right.
Tonight was extra special as the fog was thick… making visibility very difficult and bringing an ominous glow to the streetlights. The weather limited my options, certainly. It was 29 degrees and I hadn’t dressed for the weather. But it was still a lovely way to close the day.
